Well, well, well

1/29/2009
After a very frustrating moment yesterday of typing strictly to all of you
for nearly an hour just to have the Brasilian tell me my time was up and
turning off my comp before i could send it....sigh... i now have the quick
opportunity to update you on my life

So how is everyone?
Yesterday (aside from our little fo-páu) was awesome. WE started the
morning with soccer which my companion had organized and had a ton of
missionaries there, along with a few members from our ward. I had some
amazing slide tackles that i can´t say my knees exactly agreed with,
beginging on a concrete court and all, but my agrisseve spirit certainly
loved it. I walked away with a goal in the end, which ps was well deserved
(everyone likes to see an american score!)
The rest of our week is packed btw, me and my companin worked non stop
with a memeber (leader of the work here) all day tuesday starting at 10 30
and not ending till 9 30 only stopping for like a 30 minute period where i
had time to make some delicious popcorn, which i´m amzing at, not to brag
or anything.
Today i´m actualy on a division wiyh Dueden and our only goal is to get
new ppl oin our pool. For which we have so great ideas and areas to clap
down.
Does any one know an Elder Spendlove back home? He plays the bagpipes
apparently and has a friend here in my mission.....anyone? Spendlove?
I´m pretty darn sure there was a shooting ion our area the other day,
specially cause i recognised the apartment building from a place we had
been the night before while tracting when it came up on the tv screen. Of
course this was nothing to the story Holmes had about someone getting shot
next door to where they were having lunch the other day. End conclusion.,
don´t dont´pt son´t even do drugs.
I just wanna take the opportunity to thank everyone for their christmas
letters they sent through the mail. I appriciated them ginormisly and of
course was up lifted by the wonderful thoughts the Eriksons and Shanks always
provide. Regarding our family letter i can just picture dads face when he
found the picture of him playing the guitar at OBX to put on the cover and
then bragging to the family about it only to get p´layfully mocked. PS i
counted the number of pictures i had on the front in true nueberger fashion
and was a little upset however the side list of items was a little better
in those regards ;-)
I actually did a division with the ZL this week which was awesome, in
fact at lunch with E Holmes at a members home who has a parate! that was
fun and we have a whole bunch of pictures with the bird on our sholders
and stuff.
Well as i´m sure dad is dying to know, E Cook came this week, and was
awesome. His wife spoke at every meeting as well and was equally great in
the true Refiel Society Primary Stereotyoe that is just perfect. Actualy
i´m tempted to say she was even funnier than he. She talked alot about
FHE and told a great story about one of their FHEs. The family choose to
act out Moses taking his people out of Egypt and their 5ish year old son
was the role of Moses. E Cook himself had been playing the part of Pharoh
and about the third time of telling his inocent young son ´´No´´ the little
guy got so upset that (´´you know what he did?´´) he wound up a punched his
dad square in the nose. If this wasn´t funny enough, now picture me
laughing out loud then realizing i was the only one cracking up cause the
transltion hadn´t quite caught up....pois é?! LOL scripture of her talk
was 2 Nephi 25 26, purely wonderful
I had the oppotunity to attend two sessions with E Cook, the steak
conference and the priovate missionary session. He talked about pointing
our tents toward zion (and the temple) in relation to the story of Abrham
and Lot. He mentioed that although there is more wicked ness in the world
today we have also never had a better generation of young ppl. During the
mission session he strongly impressed upon us that the most important thing
he could say and would say to us is that Jesus Chrit walked this earth,
that he knows he lives and that we are so blesed to have a living prophet
on this earth today. It was equally amazing to see the incredible humility
a man of God like him has as we entered the question and answer session.
His funniest comment must have been, ´´There are Elders in Finland that
are confident every time they knock on a door there, some one in baptized
in Brasil´´
So, as i´m sure my dad is dying to know, i did have the oppotunity to
shake his hand and yes i did say ´´From Logan? And my grandmother is
Sarah Jo Chenny? aparrently thats suppose to have some kind of signifagance?´´
O yeah! he said then leaned over to his wife and was like ´´ hey this is
Laurence´s grandson´´ yep thats my grandfather i said. what a small world
that we would have the oppotunity to meet you here in brasil she commented.
So that was that, though all the other Elders made a big deal of it lol
Interesting our golden invegitator actually got to shake his hand long
before i did in the stake session. We later found out she attend all 3
sessions avalible to her on her own. WOW then to silitify how great she is
even more, she practiucally taught us fasting and tithing the other night
when my comp started off the lesson with ´´do you know what tithing is?´´
Later on in the lesson my copm leaned over to see if i could remember the
scripture in the NT and before he could even finish asking she gave him the
chapter and verse and helped him flip to it......rediculas? i think so? So
that baptism will happen Saturday and i couldn´t be more excited.
Well that pretty much wraps up my week. tranfers are already coming up
this monday so we´ll see what happens. I hope i stay cause i love the area)
and we just clean our apartment ...a lot a lot a lot, looks amazing)
The Chruch is true, DC 31:3 is an excellent Missionary scripture but i´m
sure everyone can appreciate it. Love one another and always look for service

Keep the Change ;-)
Elder Neuberger

PS also funny is when E Cook said his grand childern caled him ´´Q, which i
guess would be K here?´´ he said looking at the translator, who went to
translate then paused, looked back at him and with a raised eyebrow said,
´´uh.. No´´ lol i of course was the only one laughing....awesome
