O man, my comp (rushing through a crowded street today) ran into a drunk who
started to tip over in slow motion. Luckily i was right behind him a caught
the rather confused man to put him back on his feet. In the end tho i´m not
sure who was more confused my comp or the man.
How is Everyone?
This week naturally flew by. I was in the center quite a bit taking care
of the wedding of ´´Our Family´´. Everything went well a smoothly with the
help i inrolled of another elder. Instead of the usual month we managed to
work the casamento in one week and the papers então should be out the 23rd.
Fun time of the week: Me and my comp went to the Radisson Hotel today.
As the american tourist who didn´t know portugues yet (but with the help of
his ever faithful translator), My Comp and I managed to get a tour of the
hotel and a look out at some of the prettiest views of Maceió.....Pure Awesome!
It would be hard to say that i´ve ever been happier on the mission. My
comp is already speaking portugues like wildfire and every lesson is so
strong. And it´s different but as the President challenged me to increase
my faith daily i´ve started to notice the great cahnge in letting the Spirit
not only teach the lessons but guide them as well.
Last night as we taught the Word of Wisdom to our family the Spirit
quickly took us through an adventure of book of mormon stories and promises.
If Néfi could build and ark don´t you tihnk you could largar café? Realmente
these commandments always come with blessings and the Book of MOrmon doesn´t
pause or take a breath to promise them.
I´ve never heard an investigator reference the Profet and such as ´´The
First Presidency´´ btw. But this weekend was stake conference and both
Elder Eyring and Scott were in Recife to talk and direct us. This naturally
came with both challenges, stresses and blessings. Just the fact that church
wouldn´t be in our chapel was enough to stress me all week. But gettting our
investigators there by just pure power and they absored everything; Quotes
from Eyring,
´´Let the missionaries into your homes. The missionaries can tell and are
entitled to have the power to lead you to the things you need to hear.´´
´´If you want the Holy Ghost, pay the price that it comes with.´´
It was certainly nothing new, but the most important things usually arn´t.
I strongly believe that it was just by chance that my planner this month
clearly read, One Flock, One Pastor. Build the kingdom may be a responsibility
at this moment but that is far from the reason i am here. If i could, in
some way, share with you even a tenth of the joy i share with people each
day, If you could see or share in the tears the gospel brings, if you knew
the distance a smile goes, i have no doubt that you would follow the advice
to preach to all you came incontact with until you could no longer run,
until you could no longer walk, until you could no longer crawl.
There is always a light at the end of the tunnel. There is no place to
dark that the light of the gospel can´t reach. From those of you blessed
with such a gospel, always remember to share such light that you have, such
light that cannot be hid (3 Néfi 12:16) In all times, things and places
remember who you are and what you stand for. I bear my testimony to you
that this gospel changes lives. And i am a witness that that is only for
the better. Help others build on that same support you have (Helamã 5:12)
I luv and miss you GUYS
Helamã 15:7-8!
