KFC?

7/22/2009
Well this is sad (and maybe a representante that I´ve been in Brasil for awhile),
this week while walking and talking I could not remember what KFC stood for and
it was driving me nuts. I was like, ´´Why is KFC spelled with K when it stands
for Country...wait must not be counrty then....freak what is it. Is it
Kansas (paused to think about Myka) no couldn´t be Kansas that wouldn´t make
sense....UHG...deixa pra lá!´´ A wondferful whopping ten minutes later it
finally came to me and i was like KENTUCKY!!! YES REMEMBERED (out loud in English)
My comp was like.....´´Que...?´´

Geuss thats proof my family never ate out much, how bout you? Stake and
Shake?
lol, Anyways this semana was ridiculasly packed full, or runned as you would
say in portugues. I feel like i havn´t really ranted or pocked fun at anything
recently but i don´t tihnk i can resit today. You see, ....this week, we moved
houses....wow....awesome.
We been looking around for a house for a while, seing as how we´ve been having
a few problems with ours. Unfortunantly, and totally tipical of a missionary,
this mind set of moving home kind of gave way to a ´´if its dirty just leave it
we´re moving here soon anyways´´ mind set, of which i don´t really sugest to
anyone. No that our house was a mess, but we did have a few....billion....dishes
to clean.
Sexta-feira was the day we moved and my heart was more than warmed by the
sight of Rejan and two of her brothers out side our house who cam e to help us.
ONe of which is like strictly inactive, but prolly won of my favorite people here
in Estancia. The Lider of the Obra showed up to, Arauju. So with six or so
people everything went pretty smoothly, and plus its not like missionaries own
much more besides a bed and fridge.
Now heres the part i want everyone to picture, the moving truck. Make sure
not to picture anything inclosed because it was pretty much a flat bed truck
with the little foot high fencing. Pretty generic here in Brasil. And i think
the best part being what great protection from the rain this gives, pshyc.
Luckly we were very blessed in only having little spittings of rain here an
there as we threw everything on the truck. (literally threw, the only thing
that was placed with any thought was the fridge. I have pictures of the
confusion). All in all everything went pretty well for living on a second
story with a very tight stair way and moving to another second story house
with an even taller and tighter stair way. Small segesstion: Never carry a
fridge with only two people, your arms will be to sore to sleep.
Props about this new house: Hot showers, i´d forgotten what it feels like
to be clean.
Had a lunch that was pretty exciting this week, in which we all were mandated
to draw a picture of a house. This all took place in the house of President
Clovis who likes to fittle a little in (haha fittle a little, ok nvm) pshycology.
And after we finished drawing he told us all of our inner feelings. Apparently,
although i´m open to everyone and listen to others, personly i´m closed to most
people except a few of which i share my problems and such. Also, a car is of
great importantce to me? lol ok.
Service this week revolved around the project of constructing a wall/fence
at Irmão Enrique´s house. I was giving the impossible job to fillin a rut
with clay. Only problem was that the only place to stand was on the wet clay,
in which i was copletely sinking (would have been drowning but luclky i know
how to swim). After gettign about half way his son whiched places with me and
i started moving bricks and then went on to mixing ´´Massa´´ or concrete. I´m
now pretty much an expert in all areas and don´t even need a bucket to mix
concrete, i can do it right on the ground. Once again i went to bed that night
with sore arms
Well as though the week wasn´t busy enough, i decided to throw a fun cork in
it by locking our keys in the house segunda-feira. Wasn´t completely my fault
but that doesn´t aviod the fact that my and my comp were lost with out a paddle
on this one. We tried just about everything, (i ever climbed the two story wall
of our house to try and jimmy rig our balcony door) before we finnaly gave up
and called a lock smith, who also eventually gave up and ended up just breaking
it off, lol.
Then Conferencia de Zona was yesterday and that was great. Almost all of the
37-B ctm group was there, which i wasn´t eve expecting. Gotta love emergency
transfers.
Sadly with all of this happening it left very little time to study. There
is no question that everyone has a spiritual hunger deep down some where. And
for me it was dried up this week until things calmed down a little. Infact i
believe it even contributed to my phisical weiryness. But when i was finally
able to pull it all together i found some really fun things in PMG. The first
being the promise that our message of Christ will help everyones quality of
life. ´´It will help those lead through problem and difficulties of life,
those dificulties that we all have. Its not important which necissides you
have or your worries, the Savior e His teaching will help.´´ Nowing this i
believe it puts even more presure of us to bring this wight to ther people.
In fact i think thats on of my favorite parts of PMG, the part where it says,
´´Its very unlikly that poeple will change iunless they are invited to do so.´´
As the mission´s scripture says, Let Your LIght So Shine. I hope and challenge
all of you to do the same. DOn´t let your soul thristy for the light of Cristo
but, more over, be that font for others.
I definantly miss you all. Hallagein (those blue lights) car headlights still
make me think of Big D1 Danny V
