Opa Gente

3/25/2009
I realizedd this week i was, for sure, born with a fotographic memory and a
child. The only problem was.....it never developed. HA Ha ha......Dr Neuberger
joke

How Is Home? I´m so excited to get mail next week. I´ve totally forgotten it
existed!

Setting in this lan house right now i tihnk i´m going to catch a cold becuase
my feet are just freezing feeling ar conditioning for the firstt time in a long
while.
My comp is so american he can´t take cold showers, so ...he bought a new shower
head. After an hour of un screwing and rescrewing things apart and together
with a butter knife and of course using ducktape....we still don´t have hot
water. haha, i´m actually kinda happy about it, oops
This week seemed a little slow becuase the first part of it was spent getting
my new comp (E. Higginson) settled in and introduciong him to the members and
such. Then we had trouble finding a few lunches with out an E Reis around,
luckly it all worked out tho. Certainly the slowest part of the week was me
getting sick.....which is never suppose to happen. I tried to just play it
of and go to lunch that segunda-feira but that just made things worse and i
was in for the rest of the day. It makes me so mad because there´s just not
time to waste here. This week has truely just been a make it or break it
week of finding people for our teaching pool- which means just talking to
everyone we see- because this transfer is only 5 weeks long. So naturally
besides feeling sick i felt terrible at the time i was killing while laying
in bed and having my comp tell me i had dengue.
More inportantly here in Socorro 1 the people are just amazing. I know
we´re told to love the perople and that ipve expressedd how much i have before
but here in Socorro it just reaches new heights. Members are more than just
members and even more than friends. They truely strengthen you as you strive
to help strengthen them. I´ve never been on so many member divisions or felt
so supported. Truely i have no complaints for this area.
Like i said earlier we´re talking to everyone we can this week with the
strategy of asking if we can just teach them the first lesson right then
and there (sense everyone is just sitting on there front portch) So far
this has only worked once, but we hope those that we marked appionments with
will luck out by having the whole family there when we pass by like we told
them.
My mom repeated a thought that has been constantly running through my mind
this week, ´´Don´t judge.´´ Thi simple phrase is just so true and i´ve seen
it hit me (embarisingly) this week. To give you an example my Utah Companion
can´t help but point out that we´ve talked to a drunk once a day this week.
Not by choicec but becuase they come up to us asking us to help them home or
to help them stop drinking. The notcian of someone being able stop drinking
here really didn´t even seem possilbe to me until yesterday when our
appointment with Máxio didn´t fall through because he stayed sober the entire
day and told us he couldn´t wait to do the same for our next appointment
tomorrow. I too can´t wait, or as we say here, ,´´Não vejo na hora!!!´´
This week i realized that revaltion or answers to prayers may not always
come as we expect it. But thats the entire reason we have to keep our eyes
open and mind focused on the Lord at all times. Answers never come loudly
but, as we know, through a still small voice, who may direct our thoguhts
without us even realizing it till after the fact- as was the case with me
this week. I´ve enver felt better prepared to present the Book of Mormon
to someone than now.
I can´t think of to much else to write this week as my time comes to a
close other than to remember ´´you miss 100% of the shots you don´t take´´
so take everychane you get to share the gospel.

Love Your Fellow Men,
Elder Neuberger
