I'm sayin'? Stop lookin' at what you ain't got, and be thankful for what
you do got.´´ Who can name that quote first?
My comp just leaned over and told me to go ahead and demore muito. I
other words Liverpool is playing RealMadrid in the background and not only
does it have me terribly distracted but it has him drooling. (side note:
that statium is riduculasly liget) ...oh no.... a little kid just walked in
and changed the channel. My comp´s., well, ... a little upset and i can´t
stop laughing.
But how´s the weather over there?
For us it was hot enough today to make me look like a turnip, but it was
worth the goal this morning (self earned break away with a one on one wit
the goalie> pwnage) Last weeks futebol went well last week though it ended
a little strangly with rock (boulder really) throwing which was less than
friendly.
At crab here this week. Well actually it wasn´t crab it was something
else, guiminm? I don´t remember but pretty much it was crab. Anyways it
took my a few minutes to get comfortable with eating something that was
still looking at me, or atleast seemed to be. Yep, they just had a stack
of whole crabs on a plate and it was up to you to grab one and pull it apart.
The thought still makes me a little uneasy, but the three i ate where certainly
good. Plus i didn´t get a nasty rash afterwads like Crapldi, so thats always
a bonus, right?
Another high point in eating this week was the 1 dollar, excuse me, 1 real
meal we had at the ´´Popular Resturant´´ It was a pretty satisfying meal for
the equivalent of 45 american cents. Good enough its in our plans again this
week in fact.
Deoderant...sorry i haflta bring this up again but i had another adventure
this week. You see there´s actually one other type of deoderant that has gone
unmentioned thus far. (o man my comp just gave me a pretty excellent eye roll
and upset hand wave to the TV lol) Anyway this form comes in a container very
similar to some lotions and my polmade, like a small tuperwaer container with
a screw on lid and its pretty much just lotion. Yeah well....i believe the
word is awkward? A. Awkward to buy. Standing in line i just have ppl looking
at me like´´wow your really gunna go for it there eh? yoyuo sure thats a
good idea?´´ Then it was awkward to apply...rubbing lotion in my armpits...
uhh yeah. Add plus it was just awkward when my comp would look up and be
like ´´hey, uh, how´s that going for ya´´ lol just all part of the
experience eh?
O good someone turned the game back on. SCore still 0 a 0
Gave my comp a few items this week. First was a new pair of pants because
he some how managed to rip the intire seam of his fly this week. The second
was a whole pack of packs of stride gum. Tipo, 12 packs of gum in a case
thing, sabe? Well i believe maybe 5 days? maybe 4? have pasted now...he has
about 5 or less packs left....i´m not really sure were its all gone. Maybe
he´s selling in on the streets while i´m not looking? Who knows, but my favorite
part is how when he offers someone a piece he always introduces it as
´´American´´
As of now you should know that i´ve concluded that Brasil is for sale.
Well everything that isn´t already owned by walmart that is (which leaves
about half) Seriously though, just about every other thing you see while
walking in the street has a ´´Vende-Se´´ sign on it. Every house, car, moto,
person. lol no jk not people. Mas Qasie
Started thinkin about slalom sking this week while walking in the street
when all of a sudden my arm judded out in a subconcious motion to make a cut
in the make belive water my imagintaion had created (it was absolute glass
btw) Well embaringly my hand colided with my comp´s shoulder to which he
promptly asked ´´Que Foi?´´ lol that was embarising in the greatest way as
i explained to him my longing to go boating. (´´Why don´t we all just go
bang our heads on the dock all day´´ NAME THAT QUOTE, PLEASE, FLEDDERCHEDDAR
WHERE ARE YOU?!?!?)
Alright just a few more things before we get down to it. My juice....
<pause for effect>...will always be better than those made by brazys.
WHy you may ask? Because i take the time to risne and wash things out.
Yes, i relise ants add plenty of nutrition and protien. But Hi, its not
wanted. It prefer to dirive this vital nutrition from other things in
other ways. Please keep your ant friends to yourself, i´ll be over here
doing dishes. thank you. Sadly, as a side note, i´ve done a good job cutting
both fruit and fingers this week.
High point for my comp this week acurded when he went to start using a
dinner plate to start fanning himself at a members house. As you may have
guessed, the member came right around the corner just as he was grabbing
the plate. ´´Cool plates´´ was all his embmammrced voice could manage.
lol I tihnk it worked though, i was the only one who noticed. (Count that
as a win or lose: meaning i didn´t let it go, making fun of him all day)
Carnival was this week.....WAHOO PARTY IN THE STREET!!!! Falso. All the
missionaries up in Maceió with any kind of beach axis, acho que foi quatro
couplos, where transfered to live with the staff this week in lock down. I
on the other hand felt like a Wizard at Hogwarts during Christmas...aka
nothing. Bored out of my mind. Everyone left small town Socorro to head
for the beaches and night life in Aracaju. The place turned into a ghost
town over night. It was kinda nice tho because everyone left(here in
socorro) had many morals more in common with us missionaries than those who
left(no here in socorro), psh english). Fun times me and my comp bought
water balloons to toss in the street and tonight we´re cleaning out the
house, putting all the vitals in the bed rooom and having a water ballon
war em casa!!! Rock On.
Lastly my ocmp and I had an unspoken speeed walking race this week. I
have no idea who won but it was one of the funnier things ever. I tihnk
the competition also consisted of who could go without laughing for the
longest periods of time as well. lol the best part was how no one ever
sad anything about it directly, just things like ´´Why ya breathin so hard?´´
and other trash talk.
Our district meeting this week was based on Talking With everyone.
Absolutely one of the more important topics for a missionary, but for
everyone else as weel, if you ask me. What could be better than sharing
a message about the chance to live eternally with your family. As i believe
i´ve expresed before, there really isn´t even enough time to do such a great
thing like this. (liverpool scored!) I love the story in the book of helaman
with Nephi and Lehi who go out a preach the gospel to everyone, giving up the
Chief Judge postion to do so. And look at the results they have. We read in
later chapters that the more part of the LAMANITES! are converted to the light
of the gospel. What does it take to teach with such power? You won´t know
until you try.
So me and my comp promptly started that day talking to everyone and marked
6 appointments just in that afternoon. Its interesting but i´m pretty sure
nearly everyone i´ve talked to here while on my mission says that they´ve
talked with the missionaries once befor and they always know where the Capela
is. Now we just gotta get them there. Talking to eveyone also included
talking to a man with no fingers which i dind´t realize till i went out to
shake his hand, different... Thanks to that wonderful Carnival holiday we
also had the privalege of helping a drunk man back home. i´m not sure we
actually would have been helping him anymore than from random point a to
random point b if it hadn´t been for a man that passed us on a bike and
pointed us in the correct direction.
We were able to baptism Sidney this weekend as well which was excellent.
The entire time i just though about how if the spirit where strong enough
maybe he would feel the presents of his parents there as well. How great is
there joy to see there son make eternal convenants on earth.
Well the comp´s getting anxious so i´ve gotta go. But real quick i just
wanna bring up something i heard him say this week, ´´Repentance is like
thanking Christ for his espiação´´ What are we saying or what feeling are
we portraying if we don´t repent? That we don´t care? People are always
suprised to hear that even ´´those missionaries´´ find the need to repent
everyday. Buit its certainly true that Christ was the only man to ever walk
this earth in perfection. So thank Him constantly and srtive to live with
him again some day.
