....Rain rain go away come again some other day....
I´m glad i´ve received Crystal Light in various packages just so i can add sugar
to it when it gets here, lol. In fact on average we go through about a kilo of
sugar per semana. That means like, ....actually forget it, i donj´t even wanna
do the math on that.
Anywho, how´s everyone else?
I´ll tell you who's not doing so hot was Elder Holmes last week. I forgot to
mention it in my email but he actually went to the hospital the night before
our hump day. A bunch of test and an ultra sound later they finally came to
the conclusion that he would not be having a baby, but he did have water in
his lungs. As of now he´s doing much better and back to work. However everyone
was left very sad that he missed our party day and meeting the Lead singer of
Calçincha Preta (a very very popular band all over brasil) at the Churrascaria.
As for my week however, it was very packed and yet not packed enough. Quinta
Feira we did a service project taking out brush in a persons ´´back yard´´.
The size of the mato was about the size of Lisa Chamberlin´s (ps she´s awesome)
basement. Three hours later i´m a master of the macheity (not a clue how to
spell that, facão a onde eu moro) and nothing can withstand more than 2 blows
of my mighty force. (Also Elder Silva randomly called my phone during the
course of the demolition which was a great surprise)(HE´s doing swell as an
LZ along with Reis and Pimenta)
The next day was zone conference which is always a blast. The assistants
started the day off early with about 30 ppl getting up and showing how they
make contacts. Everytime some went up the assistances pulled out a paper to
describe the situation rapidão. By odd coincidence, i got Rapaz numa Bicicelta,
aka kid on a bike and so immediately started chance Elder Sandler around the
podium on our make belive bikes until i could finally catch him to talk to him.
Good times.
During lunch it was fun to see President really open up as a kid while
talking college football with everyone. The U fan really came out in him
as he enjoyed throwing the unbeatable record in the inumerable BYU fans faces.
I´m not sure it was the most Christ like thing he´s ever done but it sure was
pure awesome.
Also cool was the fact the sister beynon had a new fan for our house at the
end. I´m not sure how she new we needed one, but i didn´t ask questions. All
excited that night i plug it in just to find that it makes the ever so pleasing
sound of a rusty door creaking open every 10 seconds- yep.....awesome.
But cooler yet was the laundry i did yesterday and it wasn´t just any laundry
day, it was sheet laundry day. You know, the laundry that lets you day dream a
little bit about how well your gunna sleep that night under warmly washed covers
that are still giving off the smell of tupils from your carfully handpicked
detergent.
Well all the was shattered as i pulled out my first sheet only to find that
a lizardzinho had somehow managed to crawl up into the machine and had thus
been spun /(squashed to a mere skin and bones) during the spin of things.
I´m pretty sure the entire thing was equally unfortunate for both him, and
me.
Monday was a long day. A member in the ward past away and after a morning
of phone calls and ppl running by our door, we found ourselves sitting out a
4 hour service/burial. It was interesting for me to see a monte of ppl i
hadn´t seen sense the days of Silva here. Tons of members inactives and
nonmembers friends as well were there. The entire thing lead me to read
Elder Richard G Scott´s conference talk in which he states, ´´when we live
righteously... everything else is in the hands of the Lord. We can do the
best we can, but the final outcome is up to Him. We should never complain,
when we are living worthily, about what happens in our lives.´´
This quote hit me in about a thousand ways, becuase as good as my week hand
been, i won´t lie, just about everything fell through. Looking closer at the
quote its important to take it in the right direction. in não respects should
we simply leave it up to the Lord. In fact there really should be a moment
in which we really upon such counsel at all (for me at least) we should however,
continue to always work our hardest and then, when everything seems lost, when
to us the easiest thing seems impossible, then we can remember such comforting
words as those. Always have faith in knowing the The Lord knows all, and so
within his timetable all will work out. Grant it you will always have you
free will to trust in this or not, but let us just remember that ´´easy´´
was never a part of the plan. True, there was an easier way, as usually
there is, but you were not one to neglect your first estate. You, my friend,
chose ´´The Plan´´ the better and best plan for your well being and eternal
state of happiness. Now it is up to you to hold fast to such a great covenant.
I actually didn´t plan to say all that but it ties in excellently to
something Sister Beynon said to us that i was planning on sharing with you
all today. In our Zone Conference sexta you basically could have labeled
Sis Beynon´s talk, ´´Don´t Be Trunky.´´ But naturally such wise advice din´t
come from just some shallow source. In a beautiful way she wrapped the entire
thing into the fact the The Savior Himself did most of his work within the
last weeks of His life here on earth. He didn´t pause knowing the end was
near, and now respectively we rejoice not just the begining but the end of
His mortal ministry as well.
Sometimes i believe as a human society our biggest fear is someday being
forgotten. But undoubtedly i believe the Savior taught us all how to conquer
such fear through His charity. Truthfully the best way to tough a life is by
reaching out a hand or simply spread a smile. They say were fear resides faith
cannot exist. To this i would say my remedy would be to just start serving in
every aspect thus curing both fear and the lake of faith.
So like my comp always says..
Todo de Boa, de Leve, SO ALEGRIA!!!
Elder Neuberger
