So you´lkl never guess what i burned my foot with today...
...unless you guess a hot orange peel, then you´d be correct, lol. O man good times.
But everyone doin´good?
This week was naturally loaded, and worse was the fact that things even
happened de madrugada which eliminated all possible sleeping
opportunities :-( Good news however is that i finally have an actual
comp who should be with now for the next 6 week (KNOCK ON WOOD). His
names E Lima, or giant Lemon as we call hm (Limão). The guy 2 transfers
ago actually made part of my zone, setting out in the interior. He had
gotten transferred to Maceió however and truthfully i thought i´d never
see him again (sad because i always thought he was awesome, a super hard
worker, and ridiculously funny). Next thing you know he´s my comp. Só
alegria.
Last p-day after emailing you all i was made aware of a death in a
our ward that happened during a quorum activity on the beach. Everyone
took it pretty hard and i made sure to pass by the family's house a few
time taking Wirthlin´s ´´Sunday will come´´ talk. Its a blessing to
know that this life is only a preparation for the one to come (Alma
34). Speaking of which Joelma had a crazy dream this week of her dad
asking for water to clean him self (the dreams actually a little more
complex than that) but getting down to it the ward will be going to the
temple this June.......Baptisms for the dead? Both us and the L.O. have
made strong efforts and i hope we find a way to get her there.
While we´re on the subject Bruna (our most helpful member friend) has
been set on finding us a family to teach in her free time. This week she
built up the courage to talk to her neighbors (she just moved houses)
turns out the neighbors are membros inactivos and the women had had a
dream the previous night before of Bruna coming over that next day offering them a Book of Mormon. To increase the ´´Coincidences,´´ me and
Farmer happened to show up about 20 minutes later while everyone was
still sitting in the house and where able to throw down a message. It
was great to then see them at church this sunday ;-)
Of course then there was the most stressful part of my week- BAPTISMS!!! Until a baptism service starts you can bet i´m stressed all
the way up until that moment, and this past Saturday was no exception.
My LD couldn´t seem to make it on time to anything, so my LO was
calling me and calling me asking when the interviews would take place
because Marlu was already waiting in the chapel. In the meantime i was
running around with my head cut off to Jonathans house just to get there
and find every light turned on as if it had been abandoned for years.
Looked at Farmer and said, ´´Now we´re gunna ´´walk´´ faster thatn you
ever have in your life´´ In the caminho rushing to the capel i get a
phone call (the phone had been ringing all day) finally some good new,
my LD had finally gotten to the chapel and brilliantly had called to
make sure he could start the interviews- OF COURSE! Then he quickly
mentioned that a rapaz was there to be baptized and my stress was hugely relieved. Not only had Jonathan gone on his own but he´s brought both
his grandparents who were full of quitiones. IT was great, plus some
other members had brought a few investigators. Although baptisms can
sometimes be crazy up until the take off they sure are the most
uplifting moments on the mission.
Well that about sums it up. These past weeks i have been mentally comparing myself to Néfi thinking, ´´MAN, I am afull of the Spirit of God, insomuch that my frame has bno strength.´´ But this week in my scripture study i was humbily corrected learning that Heavenly Father, ´´will lift up an aensign to the bnations from far, and will hiss unto them from the cend of the earth; and behold, they shall dcome
with speed swiftly; none shall be weary nor stumble among them. None
shall slumber nor sleep; neither shall the girdle of their loins be
loosed, nor the latchet of their shoes be broke´´ I quickly decided
that being tired was far from an excuse because God´s servants don´t
rest (i also took the opportunity to shine my shoes ;-).
I love all of you, never lose a moment to strengthen you talents that you have.
Firm in the Faith,
Elder Neuberger
