Bem...another day, another transfer.....a new companion, a new house...another
area, another disrtict....a new zone, a new city....A NEW STATE!!! YA POIS!!! lol Hey everyone, how goes it? Todos coisas estam boas? Here in the beautiful state of Sergiepe i happen to be melting my skin off,
and loving life. I now have three different companions under my belt and 3
different zones, which just so happens to be more zones than my new companion
who´s been out a year as well as the same amount of areas. But to go in cronilogical order we need to back track to the start of the
week with ...no other than elder duerden. DIVISION!!! Sexta-Fera nos worked
together all day which was a little harder than last time. For starts we had
lunch at a memebers house this time. And it was at our bishops house, where
i´d only been one other time before so... needless to say our legs were a
little shacky at first. We had no idea which floor it was on and actually
ended up knocking on the wrong floor initiailly, but then found it. To our
surprise, (maybe luck? no no blessing) there wasn´t a single dul moment
throughout lunch. We were able to keep the conversation going the entire
time, no problems and of course gave a message (but that was a *snap* ;-)
Afterwards we had previously decided to promptly start tracting just in the
area around the bishoips house to save time. As we did so we split up every
other door to cover more ground and eventually cam eacross a lady who already
had a copy of The Book of Mormon. Seeing the Deurden had stopped for a while
i joined him and the lady promptly let us enter (dang, how do you say that in
english? that sound so awekward to me) ANyway i´ve never felt more like a
missionary than at this moment as we went over what other missionaries she´d
talked to and what had happened. We tyhen went into giving a little message
and even found apropriot passages for her to read later which we marked for
her and left her with. After walking out of the house and turning the corner
it was a like a little dance party as me and deurden celebrated the moment
realizing that obviously the entire thing had been done in portuguese também! I dunno how woody the woodpecker ever got so big here, but, he´s def the
man. Just think about it, who wouldn´t wanna be Woody? lol the guys a stud
with a wild personality! lol Well saturday marked the return of (yep thats right, you guessed it) ELDER
GUERRA!!! We were leaving the house when i saw him across the street.....i´m
pretty sure time stopped, lol (not gay?) Sewriously tho it couldn´t have
been more perfect, even if hollywood tried. Its a busy street but somehow as
soon as i saw him all the cars cleared and we met in the center of the road
and gave eachother huge hugs IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, it was madness i say!
MADNESS!! lol That night was Patricia´s baptism. The totall amount of people there was
record breaking (btw i´m battling a fly as i write this, and its driving me
nuts!) Anyways the total of missionaries ther was 8 lol then we had about 5
different member fami´y´s represented there. On top of that Patricia had
invited so non member friends, awesome and we had invited ´´The Mission
President´´ and (bless his sole) both he and his wife were there. In fact
he even gave the thought/message at the baptism, WOW. I tihnk what i most
pulled from it was just the fact that as we share a thought it so important
to lace our testimony through out it. It shouldn´t be a lecsure of words but
a song of belief, does that make any sense? The bishop then preformed the
baptism. Yeah pretty much the line up was loaded with heavy hitters, the
spirit couldn´t have been stronger; The next day was church and with Patricia´s baptism we didn´t really have
any investigators who were truely comited to church. So we weren´t to sure
what our numbers would show for ppl in church. Asumming the number would be
zero my companion said a pray as we left that afternoon that some how we
would be able to find people that day, somehow. By the end of church we had
no less than 4 new investigators brought by members that day. Prays are
answered by faith, and so, i´m glad my companion must have a had a ton
cause i was just shocked. That night i went out with Elder Nasiomento who knew he would be leaving
that tranfer, seeing as how his Office time was up. We visited some of his
recent converts and i ended up playing with a kid who was super wound up.
It didn´t help much when grandma got home and poured sugar in his hand for
him to eat...straight sugar, i kid you not. I loved it tho, we play fought
and i threw him in the air, all that jazz. Then we went to wash our hands
and well... i pretty much ended up taking a shower, not having been previously
warned that their sink was wack. all in fun There were no working buses monday, hectic. We ended up eating lunch with
elder duerden at there wards members home and checking transfers with them
later on. We were both excited to see that we´d be heading down to Aracaju
together, though we are in different Zones now. HAPPY b-DAY travis!!! i love you phase 10? anyone? Everyone told me i was going to the best house in the mission leading up to
my depature tuesday (ps 6 hour bus ride=no fun) but seing it was still breath
taking. ITS 2 FLOORS!!! and its just me and my companion. There are about
10 or 11 different rooms....we use about 3. The thing is ridiculous, and l
love it, but with i could share the fun with a bunch of other elders. O well
my new comp is awesome. He´s DL too, so that speaks for itself. His name
is Elder Reis and yes of course he´s brazilian. Thank you Aunt Wendy and Mrs Kia for the wonderful -packages i received
Monday. I was enjoyable to have one more thing to carry lol jk. I opened
up Mrs Kia´ps package in the train station and as i pulled out the wiffle
ball bat frpm across the station you could here elder gellette yell ´´that
is the coolest thing i´ve ever seen!!´´ which wasn´t an understate ment.
Me and my companon tried it out later on em casa ;-) Well thats just about all i got. Remember next time you come to brazil to
bring extra change for when you wanna use the restroom in the train station. Until Next Time Elder Neuberger
