Well just got don´t spending the morning on the sand. Yep, we went to the
beach this morning with a few members...and the presidents permition, dad.
Of course getting anywhere close to the water was out of the question. But
that was quite alright seeing as how the biggest intertainment came from
knocking down coconuts for their water, which my comp and member our age and i
participated in. I tihnk we´ve now made it into a sport actually. Lunch
also consisted of just eating the meaty part of the coconut, which ps is
ablolutely delicious.
Whats everyone else doing this winter, or summer,
The begining of this week for my was spent proving to my companioon that i
truely am Iron Man because after the fire insitent i had a few other incounters.
The next happened when we left with a member to visit someone. Unfortunatly
her road had turned into a giant puddle, wait ...River. Of course the memeber
went trucking right through with her kid, but in attempt to keep my shoes dry
for conference the next day me and my comp started along a fence. Unfonrtuntly
the fence ended and we had to jump in to the foot deep water anyways. Well
about three steps in i naturaully took a forth step, BAM i´m up to my chest
in water- having stepped in a uncovered man hole i couldn´t see. Luckly i
caught myself/(started treding with one leg, as my comp later retold the story),
unluckly about 10 brasies had nothing better to do but to have been sitting on
their portch watching...cool
So water and fire how now been survuvede and conquered, what was next? Well
everyday me and my comp hafta bike along the BR or the free way to get from
one city to another. COming home one night, naturally going about light speed,
i make the exit to our home when my come shouts that we´re gunna visit one more
person. No problem i just make the turn into a gastation entrace ramp to get
back on the BR as i keep talking to my comp about my grandparents. The whole
time i´m dodging all the potholes this parshly cement parshliy coble stone
parshily dirt road has. And as i turn to get back on the BR the road suddenly
dips going from comcrete cobblestone to dirt in less than a second forming a
huge hole i can´t aviod. Unfortunatly the only brake that evfery occasionally
works is the front one, and even it only works about 1/3 of the time - what a
blessing i worked on this occasion, sending me almost completely over the front
of my handlebars (kinda like someone i knew in our Adventure Persuits class).
But as i´m still trying to battle this out my correction isn´t enough and the
end result is a sideays fall to my left side...the same side my comp is
peddling on behind me. I fall; he rams me; i go scraping about five feet
on cobble stone..................excellent. Now lets remember my comp has
already been hit by a motorcycle here, and because of this he can´t seem to
stop asking me if i´m ok. I tell him im´fine about 20 times and that i just
need to wash off my bloody arm before we visit anyone else.
But all good now, in fact i´m five days accident free, and totally healed
(with the apcentce of a few arm hiars still.)
Zone Conference was the mission tour this week with Elder Didia from Belgum.
He speaks like five langueges and as i listened to him i would look at my comp
and ask ´´Can you really say that?´´ Response ´´No, def spanish´´ But cool,
def can understand alot of spanish words when put into portugues grammer.
E. Didia pretty much just re taught us how we should teach.
Sunday came and the sisteres had a baptism, my favorite part being the Hugo
gave the closing prayer. Elder Didia and The president both followed us back
down to Estância for Conference of the Districto. That was wonderful but
nothing compares to the great feeling i get every time we do service. You
see one night this week i tihnk my comp and I must have made 50 pizzas (ok
that and exageration) for a lady who sells them out of her house. She had
been really busy that day making a 90 dollar birthday cake and we knew the
Relief society would be coming over that night to share a message with her.
As the entered we took over, and omg it was a blast. I´m prettyu much a
professional pro pizza maker...in brasil.
That same night Selmira (the chefe)´s neighbor´s baby was having problem.
The childs ear is terribly infected. So when the neighbor called for help
we quickly responded to the call. Standing in the background at first, we
decicded to ask if the mom would like us to bless the child who had been
crying in pain this entire time- by the end of the blessing the baby was
sound asleep.
I have a pretty long spiritual thought i wanted to share this week but
it looks like i won´t have time. Substituting i will say that a sister
missionary hear said something i really liked this week. That none of use
our perfect. Sometimes the people here seem to think that, that we´re
perfect are because of this we always go to church. But this is absolutely
not the case, church is for everyone and we are far from perfect. Does a
healthy man go to the hospital? Of course not, those who are sick go to the
hospital. And just like this we need to go to church every week to help with
out spiritual weaknesses or ´´sicknesses´´
I hope everyone has a great week. I can testify Heavenly Father answers
prayers and will always send blessing to those who choose to concord with
His commandmentos. Fast and pray fervently for those things you needs
answers to with all your heart and listen closely for answers. They will come
2nd Néfi 2:7-8,
Elder Neuberger
