I have Wrigley´s new ad campain all ready....´´5 gum, the only gum to ever
with stand Brasil. Get Sum, Go There, Gum....5 Gum´´ yeah?
Everybody else smilling as much as i am these days?
Just spent the morning cleaning my house...never again. The smell of bleach
cleaner makes me trunkier than life, all i can think is pool, polo, perfeito
Well after a crazy crazy week (we´ll get there) i think i can absolutley say,
right now, i am in the best part of my mission. Having fun and just wanting to
go nonstop. The languege isn´t a problem and its to the point were me and my
comp can truely bring our personalities into the lessons, bouncing jokes off
each other at times or reinforcing eachothers words and testimonies
Anywho are adventure of the week starts in Aracaju from where i last wrote you.
The group of, stunningly handsome, missionarys had decided to go to Buger King
that day, and had a blast in doing so. WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN, on the bus ride
home(ish) eLeZ gets a phone call, looks at me ands says´´hey your being
transferred and´´. Interesting last time i had these exact two same LZs the
same thing happened....interesting. This time i stayed in the same zone, but
the move was alot further. The response to this call from the president
resulted in returning to Aracaju grsabbing my stuff, returning to Itibiana
that night, half packing and packing the rest in the morning to head to...
Estância!!! And getting there met finding my way through a web of taxis
(without anyone to hold my hand)
The real joy of the entire project was that i had just started laundry, not
anticatpating packing again so soon....resulution, ironed all my clothes
including underwear so that i could through then bck in a suit case.
Fortunately when you have a man iron (Black and Decker, thank you) nothings
impossible.
So now we´re here in Estância, with a brand new chapel thats only been
used for 2 weeks. The last area of my derest friend E olson in fact. And
having just had an open house the week before, we were left with alot of
references to follow up on this week. Very cool and easy specilly when....
I´m in the only area with bikes in the whole mission. Of course its hard to
say how much of a difference bikes truely make when they appear to have square
wheels and are falling apart lol. jk...but really. Its actualyl quite a
blessing sense I have a whole in my left shoe that makes puddles a drag,
buton a bike NO WORRIES.
Helped build the roof of a house this week....that was a lot of words i
didn´t know. But thats ok cause i´m sporting an awesome comb over this week,
so its all good.
Also met the best drunk i ithn k i ever will, who said he was the son of
David Cooperfeild. He actually new english pretty well and as he showed us a
few magic tricks (o yeah we have sister missionaries down here who we eat
lunch with and are in our ramo) he went in and out of português to english...
i think without knowing it. aka (tbs) very funny
Week Highlight was diffenenantly a baptism that i biked my ...bum? off for.
It took three trips back and forth to this other city she lives in to finally
comfirm it. The main problem was the president being out of town in São Paulo
and things just kept building up. But it worked out in the end which was
excellent because otherwise her enthusian would have been crushed as she had
changed alot of things in her life that week to meet the requirments of baptism.
I believe my favorite quote was, ´´I don´t know what will happen afterwards, but
i´m going to be baptized´´...perfect
I read a article this week about prayer that realy touched me. It talked
about kneeling down and offering a prayer in which your only aloud to ask for
one thing- that Heavenly Father open your eyes to the blessings you have- from
there thank the Lord for all you have. Not only would i chanllenge each of
you to take time out of your lives to do this butto also reflect on the way in
which you pray by reading the 7th and 8th paragraphs aboutprayer in the bible
dictionary. This truely will become quite an experience if you put though into
it. To quote the bible dictionary, ´asa soon as we learn the true relationship
in which we stand toward God then at once prayer becomes natural and insticntive
on our part.´´ May times throught my weeks here, if i catch a moment in which
the thought ´what could i do right now,´prayer, more and more, sounds lke a
perfect use of my time. This is especially important as we read in 3 Néfi 18:20
that those we ask for will be ansered with the understanding that´´The objet of
prayer in not to change the will of God , but to secure for ourselves and others
blessings that God is alradey willing to grant´´ We also must pray with real
intent (see MOroni 10:4) Of course all those of us who went to primary know
the form of prayer and that we end in Christ name as it is Him through who we
pray to our Heavenly Father. But what does that really mean? Praying in
Christ´s name? i´ll let the BD answer this;´´We pray in Christ´s name when our
mind is the mind of Chirst, and our wishes the wishes of Christ.´´ It goes on
to talk about how many prayers may appear to go unansered because they are of
selfish intenet. So the question is, How are your prayers?
I can promise you as you go about improving your prayer you will be able to
see the blessings and peace inj brings nto your life. Never forget to be
thankful for all that you have. As you start to think in the blessings you
have you will realize they all came from other blessings of which came from
other blessings and the list becomes endless.
I am so grateful for our Savior who makes this all possible,
Elder Neuberger
